Updates
How BlazeSCP updates itself, and how to control it.
Automatic checks
BlazeSCP checks for a new version shortly after it starts and every six hours while it’s open. When there is one, a banner appears at the top of the window with Install and Restart. Close the banner with ×, and it won’t come back for that version.
Turn off automatic checks in Settings → Updates. The same section shows your version and has Check Now.
Installing
Clicking Install and Restart:
- downloads the update while your transfers keep running;
- checks the download’s signature against BlazeSCP’s release key, and refuses anything not signed by it;
- stops and saves running transfers, installs, and restarts.
Transfers that were running come back paused after the restart, ready to resume where they stopped. If transfers are running, BlazeSCP asks before going ahead.
Privacy
The update check downloads a small file describing the latest release from GitHub. No identifier or usage information is sent.
