Credentials and data
Where BlazeSCP keeps passwords, trusted keys, settings and the transfer queue.
Passwords and secrets
Saved passwords, key passphrases and S3 secret keys are stored in your operating system’s credential store under the service name ai.aeonx.blazescp:
- macOS: Keychain
- Windows: Credential Manager
- Linux: Secret Service (GNOME Keyring, KWallet)
They are never written to a file, and once saved the interface never receives them back: editing a server shows the password field as Unchanged. Quick Connect passwords are kept in memory only.
Data folder
Everything else lives in BlazeSCP’s data folder:
| Platform | Location |
|---|---|
| macOS | ~/Library/Application Support/ai.aeonx.blazescp |
| Windows | %APPDATA%\ai.aeonx.blazescp |
| Linux | ~/.local/share/ai.aeonx.blazescp |
| File | Contents |
|---|---|
blazescp.db |
Saved servers (no secrets) |
transfers.db |
The transfer queue, so it survives restarts |
settings.json |
Your settings |
known_hosts |
SSH host keys you’ve trusted in BlazeSCP |
known_certs |
TLS certificates you’ve trusted, by fingerprint |
Your own ~/.ssh/known_hosts is read but never modified.
Removing a trusted key or certificate
Open known_hosts or known_certs in a text editor and delete the line for that server; BlazeSCP will ask again next time.
