What's new

BlazeSCP updates itself; this is what each version brought. Downloads for every version are on the releases page.

  1. 0.2.43

    November 2026

AI assistants via MCP, ARM64 builds for Windows and Linux, and a new icon.

    New

    • A local MCP server: Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex CLI, Claude Desktop, Cursor and other MCP clients can list, add, edit and remove servers, browse connected servers and see transfers.
    • Settings → MCP server gives the setup command or config for each client, a read-only mode (Allow changes off) and a new token on request.
    • Windows on ARM: a native ARM64 installer.
    • Linux on ARM: .deb and .rpm packages for arm64, next to amd64.
    • A new app icon.

    Improved

    • The update check says plainly when no release has been published yet, instead of showing a raw error.
  2. 0.2.0

    November 2026

Tabs, two-factor sign-in, Quick Connect and automatic updates.

    New

    • Tabs in each pane: Open in New Tab, ⌘T, ⌘W and tab switching.
    • Two-factor SSH sign-in: one-time codes and other server prompts are asked in a dialog.
    • Quick Connect (⌘K) from a URL, without saving the server.
    • Import servers from ~/.ssh/config.
    • sftp://, ftp:// and ftps:// links open in BlazeSCP.
    • Settings: simultaneous files, a shared bandwidth limit, verification after transfer.
    • SHA-256 verification, computed on SSH servers that allow it.
    • Notifications when transfers finish in the background.
    • Automatic, signed updates.
    • PQC tag in the sidebar for quantum-safe connections.
    • FTP active mode for servers that refuse passive mode.
    • Right-click menus, filter (⌘F), Get Info with a permissions editor, New File and Duplicate.
    • Server-to-server: either pane can show any server.
    • Moving by dragging within a server; copies on the same server happen server-side.

    Improved

    • Panes stay readable in narrow windows.
    • A missing starting folder offers to open the home folder instead.
  3. 0.1.0

    November 2026

    First release.

    New

    • SFTP, FTP/FTPS, WebDAV/WebDAVS and Amazon S3 (and compatibles).
    • Hybrid post-quantum SSH key exchange (ML-KEM-768 and NTRU Prime with X25519), with classical fallback.
    • Dual-pane browser with sorting, hidden files and drag and drop from the desktop.
    • Transfer queue with pause, resume, retry and conflict rules; it survives restarts.
    • Host key verification and certificate pinning; passwords in the system keychain.
    • S3 share links valid for 24 hours.
