Getting started

Installing

System requirements and installation on macOS, Windows and Linux.

macOS

  1. Download the .dmg for your Mac: Apple silicon (M1 and later) or Intel.
  2. Open it and drag BlazeSCP to Applications.
  3. Open BlazeSCP from Applications or Launchpad.

Windows

  1. Download the installer (.exe) for your PC: x64 for most PCs, ARM64 for Snapdragon and other ARM-based PCs (Settings → System → About shows which you have). The .msi (x64) is for administrators deploying to many machines.
  2. Run it. BlazeSCP uses Microsoft Edge WebView2, which the installer adds if it’s missing (it’s already on Windows 11).

Linux

BlazeSCP needs WebKitGTK 4.1, which current Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora and openSUSE releases have. Packages are built for amd64 (x86_64) and arm64 (aarch64); uname -m shows which you have.

  • Debian / Ubuntu: sudo apt install ./BlazeSCP_*.deb
  • Fedora / openSUSE: sudo dnf install ./BlazeSCP-*.rpm (or zypper install)

Saved passwords use the Secret Service, provided by GNOME Keyring or KWallet on most desktops.

Updating

BlazeSCP checks for updates in the background and shows a banner when one is ready. Nothing installs until you click Install and Restart. See Updates.

Uninstalling

Remove the app as usual. Your servers, transfer queue and settings stay in BlazeSCP’s data folder (see Credentials and data) so a reinstall picks them up; delete that folder to remove them too. Saved passwords are in your keychain under ai.aeonx.blazescp.
